good location

bloodstains on the mattress topper, noisy, no facilities, bathroom smelled bad. Hotel was having a party for Sinulog festival but upon check in nothing was mentioned, felt like we were intruding and not welcome. Overpriced even for Sinulog time. such a shame :(

Water pressure on shower is really low. We only stayed one night so it's fine. Also wifi signal is really low too. :(

Reality is far different from the appealing photos.

Well they had cable TV, with international channels like BBC and Al Jazeera.

Everything else. The photos on their booking page are very appealing, but the reality is so far from this. I have no idea how this place got good reviews so far. It's so run down, dirty, and unkept. I stayed at room 102 and immediately upon entering the room there was a sewage-like odor that the caretaker insisted was "Downy." The bathroom hasn't been cleaned properly for god knows how long. There were visible molds in the shower area and I saw a couple of roaches crawling around. It also smells terrible. The air-conditioner is too loud, you cannot make a phone call. Around it is brown masking tape to cover the possible holes/ air vents. This place is just poorly maintained.

Staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. The owner was also very friendly and even gave us a lift to the Ayala shopping mall.

The staff was kind and tried to make us feel welcomed. It is a hostel, so when you know what to expect it is fine. It was clean and you could also use the kitchen next to reception.

I think it was more us not liking the city and missing the conveniences of having wifi at the room and using public transport instead of taxis. The wifi is working at the reception and it's easy to book a grab. We had a bad smell in the bathroom and the staff did not hesitate to give us a new room. We had cockroaches in both rooms in the bathroom but they said it's normal due to the climate. It general the hostel is located near a very busy street so it is very noisy together with loud AC in the rooms. Was ok with earplugs.
